Cruel gang as young as 12 break Dublin nurse's elbow in disgusting attack on way home from hospital

A cruel Dublin child gang with members as young as 12-years-old broke a nurse's elbow trying to steal her scooter as she made her way home from work.

The vile incident happened in Drimnagh just before 8pm last night when the hardworking 35-year-old was jumped by the group who pushed her to the ground leading to the break.

The nurse - who had just finished a 12-hour shift at a hospital in the capital - is extremely traumatised after the attack.

She is now unable to work in the middle of a pandemic when needed most because of the young brutes.

The nurse's partner told Dublin Live: "She was on her way home from work in the hospital when she was attacked by a group of youngsters.

"They were roughly between 12-14 years-old, and they tried to steal her scooter. She was pushed to the gutter and she broke her elbow.

He added: "It was a life-changing event for her."

Her partner praised the Gardai and Emergency Services who arrived at the scene immediately and brought her to St. James's Hospital.

He added: "Her elbow is quite bad, we were just expecting a simple fracture but unfortunately, it turned out that one of her bones was broken into small fragments.

"She's still extremely traumatised with what happened and we're hoping somebody might have some information on the attack."

Dublin Live has contacted Gardai about the incident.
