Cruel Ayrshire youngster repeatedly kicked dog in the street

A 20-year-old Ayrshire man has been handed a lifetime ban from keeping dogs — after he was convicted of repeatedly kicking one in the street.

Josh McColm, of Westwood Avenue, Ayr, appeared for sentencing at Ayr Sheriff Court on Tuesday.

At an earlier hearing on July 14, McColm admitted causing a protected animal unnecessary suffering and that he did repeatedly kick the dog’s legs and body.

The sickening attack took place on February 26 last year at Walker Road, Ayr, and elsewhere.

Sheriff John Montgomery imposed a lifelong ban on McColm from owning, or keeping a dog before he admonished and dismissed the youngster.
