Croydon Guardian wins free newspaper title

The Croydon Guardian has been named free weekly newspaper of the year at a media awards ceremony in Brighton. It beat off challenges by the Crawley News and Bexley Times to win the EDF Energy award. And its website, yourlocalguardian.co.uk, won website of the year. Croydon Guardian assistant editor Danny Brierley said: "Our newspaper is always packed full of great exclusives and essential local information." Unlike most free papers, then!
