Adelaide forward Tyson Stengle has been given permission to train with a state league club as he awaits the outcome of an AFL investigation.
The Crows stood down Stengle from all AFL duties last December as they investigate a photo purported to show the 22-year-old with drugs.
The unresolved investigation follows Stengle twice being suspended for four games for separate off-field indiscretions last year.
In April, the Crows banned Stengle for four AFL games after he was caught drink-driving.
And in September, Stengle and then-teammate Brad Crouch were suspended by the AFL after being caught with illicit drugs.
Stengle was again banned four games and Crouch, who has left the Crows for St Kilda, was suspended for two games when the AFL found the pair guilty of conduct unbecoming.
On Monday, the Crows were given permission from the AFL for Stengle to train with his former SANFL club, Woodville-West Torrens Eagles.
"Stengle is free to train with the Eagles effective immediately," the Crows said in a statement.
The Crows said the club, the AFL, AFL Players Association and Stengle's management were still working through the investigation.
