Crows coach Nicks to miss Carlton clash

Adelaide coach Matthew Nicks will miss the Crows' clash against Carlton because of COVID protocols. (AAP)

Adelaide coach Matthew Nicks has been placed under AFL COVID-19 protocols and will miss Sunday's game against Carlton.

Nicks' senior assistant Scott Burns will coach the Crows against the Blues.

Nicks is the latest in a line of head coaches including Michael Voss, Ben Rutten, Brett Ratten, Justin Longmuir and Simon Goodwin to miss a match after being placed under the league's health and safety protocols.

"Matthew is feeling okay though he is obviously disappointed that he won't be with the team on Sunday," Adelaide's head of football Adam Kelly said in a statement on Thursday.

"We have planned for this scenario and remain focussed on delivering a strong performance this weekend."

Kelly said no other members of the coaching panel or playing squad had been impacted.
