Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, met on Wednesday with Afghan National Security Advisor Mohammad Hanif Atmar.
During the meeting, the two officials discussed bolstering bilateral relations and the two countries' efforts in combating terrorism.
The meeting was attended by Saudi intelligence chief Abdul Aziz al-Howairini, Maj. Gen. Ahmed Asiri, National Security Advisor Mohammed al-Ghafli, and Afghan Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Jalal Karim.
Also Wednesday, Prince Mohammed patronized the graduation ceremony of the 93rd batch of King Faisal Air Academy in a ceremony held at the academy in Riyadh.
Upon his arrival, the Crown Prince was received by Deputy Riyadh Governor Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the General Staff Maj. Gen. Abdulrahman al-Bunyan, Commander of the Saudi Royal Air Force Maj. Gen. Mohammed al-Otaibi, and commander of the academy, Lt. Gen. Khaled Allaboun.
The graduates recited their oaths and the results were announced. The Crown Prince decorated some graduated officers with new ranks, as well as exchange graduates of Bahrain and Kuwait.
During the ceremony, the Crown Prince witnessed an air show of Saudi Falcon aircraft, reflecting the strength, efficiency and readiness of the Saudi pilots' excellent training and workmanship.
Allaboun delivered a speech welcoming the Crown Prince, who sponsored the graduation of the students. He explained that the graduates constitute the main source for providing the Saudi Royal Air Force with qualified pilots of specialized officers.
He pointed out that the batch of graduates includes a group of exchange students of aviation studies, who were sent to the United States and a number of European countries leading in this major. The exchange students passed the training and study programs efficiently, confirmed Allaboun, describing them as the "best ambassadors of their country."
Graduate student, Mohammed al-Husaini, delivered the graduates' speech expressing their pride and honor in joining the specialized officers of Saudi Royal Air Force, protectors of religion, the king and the homeland.
At the end, memorial photos were taken.
The graduation ceremony was attended by a number of officials.
King Faisal Air Academy includes programs and training for fighter pilots, weapon directors, air traffic controllers, and information technology training.
