Crown Parks has announced plans to spend £800,000 to develop 12 new residential properties near Balmoral Castle over the next 18 months and has promised jobs for local tradesmen.
The homes will be built at Marlee Loch Park, near Blairgowrie, by Crown Parks, which is owned by Cresswell Welch.
He promises the jobs will go to staff who have worked on the company’s Arbroath project - Seaton Estate.
Welch, who started Crown Parks in 1993, now runs 12 sites across the UK, but the development in Arbroath is where he is investing most.
“We have a total of 12 staff working on these new homes who have already worked on properties on our Arbroath estate. These new homes will help secure their jobs for the foreseeable future”, explains Welch.
“These new properties will be selling at between £150,000 and £250,000 and will include two bedrooms and an ensuite bathroom.
“People are queuing up to buy these homes even before they have been built. I have five or six people who have already expressed an interest in putting down a deposit to live in these new homes.”
The site, which is aimed at those aged 55 and over. The group is planting flowers and trees around the area. It has installed bird and squirrel feeders.
Welch also confirmed he has recently installed a defibrillator, in case of any emergencies.
Marlee Loch will have key coded entry and 24-hour CCTV as well as a residents’ association with which Welch works closely.
