Crowds of students were evacuated from their halls after a kitchen fire.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service received a call at around 9.51pm on Tuesday, July 4 following reports of a blaze at student accommodation on Moss Street in Liverpool City Centre. Five fire engines and an aerial appliance arrived at the scene just four minutes later as crowds of students spilled out onto the pavement in front of the building.
Firefighters found the blaze on the first floor of the building, in a communal kitchen and managed to extinguish the flames within 15 minutes of arriving at the scene. Firefighters then ventilated the halls.

All the the students in the building were accounted for and nobody was injured in the incident. Students were evacuated for around one hour.
