Crowds gather for the opening of Ireland's 12th Krispy Kreme doughnut shop

Krispey Kreme opened their 12th shop in Ireland this morning in Carrickmines.

The shop opened its doors at 8:00am this morning but loyal doughnut loving customers were waiting outside beforehand to be the first to get their hands on the delicious treats. The first 50 customers to make a purchase also received free exclusive merchandise.

Mark Landers from Leopardstown, Kevin Doolan from Sandyford, and Chris Nixon from Dun Laoghaire were the three lucky super fans who managed to win the ultimate prize of Krispy Kreme vouchers so they can always buy their favourite treats. Spirits were kept high by Dublin-born singing sensation Roe Byrne, who was keeping the crowd entertained this morning.

Mark Landers was first in the queue this morning. He said: “I knew today was the day Krispy Kreme opened in Carrickmines Park and I wanted to pop in to get some delicious dozens to treat my work colleagues. I am so delighted to have been first in the queue and delighted that a Krispy Kreme shop has opened up close to me.2

"We are delighted to open our doors in Carrickmines Park today, continuing to spread the joy of our handcrafted doughnuts throughout Dublin," Ireland Country Manager Declan Foley said. "As our 12th Irish opening we are thrilled to see those who have travelled to be with us here this morning and soak up the atmosphere of opening day."

As well as the famous handcrafted doughnuts, there will also be coffee, soft drinks and milkshakes on offer at the new location. There is also a limited edition Valentines Day range on offer in the next few weeks.

The shop is open from 8am to 6pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday and from 8am to 9pm Thursday and Friday. You can also find Krispy Kreme treats at Applegreeen, Tesco, Plaza Group and Circle K.

You can check out the latest menus and information on click and collect at their website.
