Crowds gather as huge chariot is pulled along the streets of Beeston

Dozens of people gathered in a Nottinghamshire town to watch a Chariot Festival procession.

came out on Sunday, April 2, for the end of the annual Hindu Temple Festival, which ends with the Chariot Festival.

Starting at The Beeston Sri Thurkkai Amman Temple, the Chariot holding the Goddess Durga was pulled along the streets of Beeston Rylands. It was led by a crowd of drummers, dancers, singers and priests chanting in Sanskrit.

The chariot was the star of the show, standing at an impressive 21 feet. Dozens of people had come out to see the Chariot, with many families lucky enough to see it go past their homes in West Crescent.

Everybody was welcome to attend the event and join in with the celebrations, which lasted throughout the day.
