Crowds come out for traditional parades

The traditional Linlithgow Marches took on a poignant touch this year when soldiers from the Royal Regiment of Scotland took part in the parade to mark 100 years since local  men returned from the battlefields of World War One.

The regiment led the parade on Tuesday as part of the annual celebration.

There were gala days aplenty too at the weekend with Armadale, Kirknewton and Loganlea enjoying the spotlight, among others.

Children from Blackburn Gala joined youngsters on the parade in Armadale after theirs was cancelled because of poor weather.
