Crossmichael Gala may have been cancelled this year – but that didn’t stop the local community putting on a show.
In a real joint effort, Crossmichael Youth Club and the gala committee teamed up with Glenkens arts hub, the Catstrand, to provide a programme of entertainment for local children across the weekend.
Activities on the Friday included a big aerial swing, bouncy castle, coconut shy and a treasure hunt for cardboard cut-out animals in the woods.
The children had more fun and laughter on Monday when Clyde Built Puppet Theatre came down from Auchtermuchty in Fife to put on two puppet shows with a puppet-making workshop in between.
Crossmichael Youth Club treasurer Nicola Brown told the News: “Overall there was a fantastic turnout.
“We had 76 children on Friday and were at full capacity – we couldn’t have taken any more.
“We had around 30 for the puppeteers on Monday which was a nice number.
“I would like to thank all the volunteers and leaders who helped out over the two days.”
