Crossmichael and Parton Playgroup celebrated National Bee Day.
The Glenkens Honey Company kindly brought along a sealed observation hive, bee keeping equipment and honey for the children to try.
The playgroup is keen to promote the positivity of bees and the importance of helping them in their environment and has been developing a nature garden incorporating a wild flower area.
The children had a great day learning about bees and will now be making bee houses.
