Crosshouse takeaway proposals given green light by planners

Plans to transform a vacant shop into a hot food takeaway have been approved by East Ayrshire planners.

Blueprints for 4 Irvine Road in Crosshouse were rubber-stamped by officials with a number of conditions.

Proposals submitted by Frank McCabe were given the go ahead for the former bookmakers despite concerns around congestion and parking issues.

Officials argued that parking on a pavement and blocking access is a matter for Police Scotland to enforce.

They concluded that a hot food takeaway would be "no more significant detriment in parking activity than a bookmakers."
