CrossCountry moves Bath to wrong side of Bristol in 'geographically challenged' map

A man travelling through the South West was left a little bemused by a train company's geography - which put Bath between Bristol and Weston-super-Mare.

Castle Cary railway station is also where Bridgwater station should be on the CrossCountry Trains map.

Dave Harries spotted the blunder, which saw Bath moved to the wrong side of Bristol.

Somerset Live reports Dave tweeted CrossCountry trains: "Does anyone check your maps?! Just saw this at Plymouth.

What you need to know as Saharan dust cloud hits Bristol

Dave was unimpressed by the error-riddled map (DaveHarries/Twitter)

"Not only is Bath NOT between Bristol TM & Weston-super-Mare but the map has Castle Cary where Bridgwater is.

"Castle Cary is on another route via Westbury. Bath is in fact EAST of Bristol TM!

"Tut tut tut!!!"

Emergency services rushed to crash in narrow lane

CrossCountry trains replied to his tweet to state he was "absolutely correct" and had alerted the "relevant team" to fix the typos.

Dave later tweeted a follow-up tweet to Great Western Railway's customer service to further criticise the incorrect map.

"I had a laugh at the expense of @CrossCountryUK when this map left me wondering if whoever drew it up was geographically challenged", he said.

CrossCounty has been approached for a comment.
