Two crossbows and body armour have been found after a police chase at the weekend.
A 16-year-old boy has been arrested after police were lead on a chase through Sefton Park on Saturday, June 11, at around 11.30am. Acting on reports of a drug deal happening in the area, officers noticed a grey Volvo car travelling close to the park.
The driver then drove into the park, abandoned the car and ran away before being caught. After searching the car, two crossbows and body armour were found.

Later police raided a home in Croxteth and cannabis was recovered from the property. The teenager arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class B controlled drug (cannabis), possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, driving without insurance and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.
He has been released under investigation as enquiries continue. Chief Inspector Mike O’Malley said: "The dealers who peddle drugs do not care about the harm they inflict on the communities they operate in.
"They often exploit young and vulnerable people in order to line their own pockets, and can bring violence and intimidation to our streets. We will act on all information provided about drug dealing in your area. If you suspect people are storing or selling illegal drugs in your community, please do not hesitate to contact police and we will take action."
