Foodies may be flocking to the outskirts of Glasgow throughout August for a taste of fine dining courtesy of celebrity chef Michel Roux Jr.
The famed Roux family are responsible for the restaurant at Crossbasket Castle, a luxury hotel near Blantyre - and to celebrate its reopening post-lockdown, the kitchen is serving up something special.
A series of dinners curated by Michel will take place over three Thursdays in August, pairing the chef’s menu with a series of drinks brands covering wine, gin and whisky.
The events - taking place on August 6, 13 and 20 - cost £45 per head - and if you want to book a room and make a night of it then they’re available for £125.
The first is an evening of dinner and wine, followed by dinner and Glenfiddich whisky pairing on August 13 and dinner and Hendricks gin tasting on the 20th.
General Manager Rob Baird said: “Following lockdown, many people are eager to treat themselves to a luxury experience. These events are the perfect opportunity for couples or groups of friends to relax in a 17th century castle and enjoy wonderful food and drinks, served by our highly trained team.
“With specially curated menus designed specifically for the tasting, as well as the stunning surroundings of Crossbasket Castle, there couldn’t be a better way to spend an evening out.”
We don’t know about you - but after months stuck in our own wee patch of Glasgow, a dose of luxury just 12 miles away sounds very good to us.
