Crosby is home to a whole host of eclectic and vibrant independents, from cafés and restaurants to book shops and stores.
Crosby Cake Closet arrived on Mount Pleasant in December 2018 with a whole new concept - cake and clothes, all in one place.
The café-slash-store was set up by Kerry Wheeler, combining three of her favourite things; beautiful clothes, coffee, and cake.

Kerry said: “In 2007, before I had my babies I was backpacking around Australia and managed to get a little job in a beautiful coffee shop in Melbourne, on a road that leads to a beach.
“It’s whole concept was that it was attached to a ladies boutique and I fell in love with the whole vibe; being surrounded by beautiful clothes, coffee, and, of course, cake.
“It was such a lovely laid back relaxing vibe, it was a pleasure to work there - so I said to myself, if I ever got the opportunity, that’s what I’d do.
“So, after nine years at home with my babies here I am”.
Crosby Cake Closet serves everything from loose leaf tea and coffee, to locally baked cakes, toasties, smoothies and milkshakes.
Alongside the café, Kerry sells all thing boutique, offering ladies a huge selection of shoes, dresses, bags and more.
The clothes are pre-owned designer items, along with high street labels.

Kerry added: “The response from locals has been really positive, they say it's really brought something different to the area.
“I love that Crosby and Waterloo are so full of lovely little independents, it's such a supportive community that I’m proud to be a part of”.
The café is open from 7 days a week, with varying hours - and its open late throughout the summer.
