Croke Park to welcome 18,000 fans for Leinster hurling final and football semi-finals

Croke Park will welcome 18,000 fans for both the Leinster hurling final and the Leinster football semi-finals next weekend.

In another move to gradually increase crowd attendances, Minister for Sport Jack Chambers also announced that 7,000 supporters will be permitted for the Munster hurling final between Limerick and Tipperary in Pairc Ui Chaoimh on Sunday week.

Dublin meet defending champions Kilkenny in the Leinster hurling final on Saturday evening before Kildare take on Westmeath and Dublin play Meath in the Leinster football semi-finals on Sunday.

And this coming weekend 3,500 fans will be able to attend the Munster football between Cork and Limerick in Pairc Ui Chaoimh and Tipperary and Kerry at Semple Stadium.

A similar crowd will be in MacHale Park for the Mayo's Connacht semi-final tie against Leitrim.

It follows the success of other pilot events in recent weeks, with Taoiseach Micheal Martin himself one of 2,400 supporters at the Cork-Limerick Munster hurling semi-final in Thurles last weekend.
