Croke Park to host Ulster Football Final between Monaghan and Tyrone

Monaghan and Tyrone fans will be looking forward to a trip to Dublin later this month after it was confirmed that Croke Park will host the Ulster Football final.

Ulster GAA announced today that the provincial decider will be held at HQ, with the tie set for 4 pm on July 31.

The move now means that three of this year's four provincial deciders will be played at Croke Park, following Connacht GAA's decision to play their final at HQ.

An Ulster GAA statement read: "Following a meeting of the Ulster CCC today, it has been agreed that the Ulster Senior Football Championship final between Monaghan and Tyrone will be played in Croke Park on Saturday 31st July at 4pm."

The decision to opt for Croke Park has allowed an attendance of 18,000 spectators at this weekend's Connacht showdown, and it's hoped that there will be similar attendances permitted for the Ulster clash.

It's not the first time Croke Park has hosted Ulster finals, with the venue playing host to finals between 2004 and 2006.
