Croatia will reopen to Brits when UK restrictions lift without need for Covid jab

Croatia is reopening its borders to British tourists, whether they've been vaccinated against Covid-19 or not.

Anyone travelling will need to show provide proof of either a full Covid vaccination, a negative PCR test result, a negative antigen test or confirmation of recovery from Covid-19 within 180 days.

Holidaymakers will also need to show confirmation of booked accommodation and fill out an online form before travelling.

The country has started welcoming back tourists from non-EU countries from April 1, which the tourism authority has said also includes travellers from the UK.

Anyone entering Croatia who can provide evidence of their vaccination or negative test will not be required to quarantine.

You can get the full details on entry requirements and what proof you'll need to show if you've had Covid-19 on entercroatia.mup.hr.

For those who've always dreamed of spending some time in Croatia, there's also a new visa for remote workers allowing them to stay for up to 12 months, which might be of interest. (A handy excuse if you've wanted to check out its breathtaking national parks, vibrant cities and beautiful beaches. Oh, and of course there are the Croatian islands that never fail to be a hit with intrepid explorers.)

Of course just because Croatia is ready to welcome back Brits, doesn't mean necessarily that travel will be on the cards when the UK's restrictions do lift,

Currently there is a ban on international travel for Brits in the UK - there are some legally permitted reasons, but a holiday isn't one of them.

When travel does resume, it will be under a 'traffic light' system with countries placed on a 'green', 'amber' or 'red' list. 'Green' destinations won't require you to quarantine when you return - but amber or red will.

It's not been confirmed which countries will feature on the lists.

It's currently hoped that foreign travel could resume from May 17 as part of England's lockdown roadmap, with the government's Global Travel Taskforce expected to give an update within the coming week.
