The Croatia Euro 2024 squad is starting to take shape, with the 2022 World Cup semi-finalists stepping up preparations for their latest major tournament.

There's a familiar look to the Croatia Euro 2024 squad, too, with Luka Modric, Mateo Kovacic and Ivan Perisic all knocking about. Manchester City defender Josko Gvardiol has developed into a brilliant player for the national team, too, while there are other talented, experienced individuals that have helped the side over the last few tournaments.

As a result, there's plenty to get excited about with the current Croatian crop ahead of Euro 2024, though UEFA hasn't done them any favours for the group stages by drawing them in the 'Group of Death', alongside Spain, holders Italy and outsiders Albania.

As with every team at the tournament, FourFourTwo will bring you all the latest on Croatia as we report live from the European Championship, including information on how to watch all the games and which of the favourites will go all the way.

Croatia Euro 2024 squad numbers

The Croatia Euro 2024 squad numbers will be announced closer to the tournament.

Croatia manager: Zlatko Dalic

Appointed in 2017, Zlatko Dalic has managed to take Croatia to a fourth major tournament in what has been a hugely impressive stint in charge of the Balkan nation. After leading the team to new heights at the 2018 World Cup, where they reached the final, a third-place finish four years later in the 2022 World Cup highlighted the impressive job Dalic had achieved.

Sure, going out in the last 16 at Euro 2020 was disappointing, but beating Brazil in 2022 more than made up for it for the Croatian.

Croatia's star player

Luka Modric

At 38, Modric's star is somewhat dwindling, though that doesn't mean he won't retain such an important impact on the Croatia Euro 2024 squad. Now into the 170s for international caps, the Real Madrid midfielder is able to dictate player exquisitely, and has been the main reason why his nation have managed a runners-up and third-place spot in the past two World Cups.

Mateo Kovacic and Josko Gvardiol will enable Modric to continue maintaining his control on games at Euro 2024 - so expect a similar level of influence from the diminutive midfielder this tournament.

FAQs

How many players are Croatia allowed to take to Euro 2024?

Croatia are allowed 26 players for their Euro 2024 squad. Despite the best efforts from UEFA to reduce squad sizes to 23 for the tournament, teams argued that the increased pressure on players due to intense workloads means that injuries would become more of an issue in 23-man teams.
