Critically injured man arrested after woman stabbed to death in Greenwich Holiday Inn

A man has been arrested after a woman was fatally stabbed at a hotel in south-east London.

Police rushed to the Holiday Inn in Greenwich just after 10am on Sunday following reports of a stabbing.

A woman was found suffering serious injuries. She was declared dead at the scene a short while later.

At the same location, a man believed to be known to the woman, fell “from a height”, police said.

The man, in his thirties, was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

He has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Formal identification of the woman awaits and police are in the process of informing her next of kin.

Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing. At this stage, officers believe no one else is involved in the incident.

A crime scene remains in place.
