Celtic insiders reportedly believe that Brendan Rodgers is trying to manufacture his exit from the club.
It comes after a 'split' over summer signings.
Senior figures at Parkhead are 'concerned' Rodgers is engineering his way out of Celtic, claims The Scottish Sun.
It is said that his quotes on the club's transfer window have not gone down well with the hierarchy.
Rodgers has previously urged Celtic to 'show ambition' in the transfer market, and said there needed to be a 'major inquest' after their Champions League playoff loss to Kairat Almaty.
Insiders reportedly believe things have 'reached a critical point', and that the boss could depart before the end of his current contract, which expires next summer.

Despite these claims, Rodgers has consistently stated that he intends to fulfil the three-year deal he signed in 2023.
Speaking after his side won the Scottish Premiership last season, he said: "I will be here next year, 200 per cent.
"No one knows me bar very, very few and there's even less that understand me.
"When I see all the reports of where I am going, people who know me and supposed to know where I am going, I'm unhappy... I've never been happier here I've had the most amazing season here.
"Can we now finish strong, regroup in the summer and be even better."
