Cristiano Ronaldo will have Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba to thank should he win the Premier League golden boot this season, according to Manchester United legend Gary Pallister.
The Reds last month completed the signing of Ronaldo to bring him back to the club after 12 years away, just months on from seeing the Portugal legend finish the Serie A season as top scorer.
After 101 goals in 134 games for Juventus, Ronaldo opted to leave Italy and return to Old Trafford and the 36-year-old is now expected to lead the attack of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's squad as they look to lift a Premier League title for the first time since 2013.
Despite missing the first three games of the season, Ronaldo is being hotly tipped to challenge for the golden boot this season and former United defender Pallister believes he will certainly be in and around the conversation with the calibre of players around him.
"You have to say yeah, when you’ve got Fernandes and Pogba pulling the strings and creating chances for him," Pallister told FreeSuperTips.
"Sancho, Greenwood, Rashford and Cavani in your squad as well, you’ve got to think they’ll create chances for you. Without doubt Ronaldo will be getting on the end of it and if I was a betting man I’d be having a couple of quid on it."
Ronaldo is currently the third favourite with a best price of 9/2 among high street bookmakers, behind Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku and Liverpool star Mo Salah, and could make his second debut against Newcastle this weekend.
