Cristiano Ronaldo to be 'shown the door' by Erik ten Hag and more Manchester United rumours

Cristiano Ronaldo will reportedly be told by Erik ten Hag that his services aren’t needed should the Dutchman be appointed Manchester United manager.

The attacker is the club’s top scorer this season with 18 goals but has been criticised by many for his refusal to press. United are set for an overhaul this summer with the likes of Paul Pogba and Juan Mata out of contract and set to leave.

The Daily Star claims Ten Hag will also look to offload Ronaldo. The superstar, who signed a two-year deal last August, is said not to be part of the Dutchman’s long-term plans.

It also reports that Ronaldo met with agent Jorge Mendes at the end of March to assess his options for this summer, with United set to miss out on next season’s Champions League.

Meanwhile, TuttoJuve report that United are now frontrunners to land Ajax winger Antony. The 22-year-old is highly regarded by Ten Hag and is one player he supposedly wants to bring with him to Old Trafford. Juventus are also said to be interested in the youngster and were once favourites to land the talent.

But Ten Hag’s imminent arrival at Old Trafford has seemingly convinced Antony that United is the place for him, albeit the club may be forced to pay out as much as £58m for him.
