Cristiano Ronaldo tipped to shine against Arsenal as Mikel Arteta warned over significant plans

Your Arsenal morning digest on Tuesday, November 30.

Cristiano Ronaldo tipped to shine against Arsenal

He was dropped to the bench for Sunday's clash with Chelsea but Paul Scholes believes he should be recalled to the starting line-up against Arsenal.

"I'd play a centre forward, for a start," Scholes told Premier League Productions, via The Mirror.

"I think Cristiano will play, I think the two wide players will still probably play, possibly play two of the midfield players instead of three of them, so Fernandes comes [into midfield] as well instead of Matic or Fred.

"Arsenal are nowhere near the quality of Chelsea, they're nowhere near the quality of Liverpool, they're nowhere near the quality of Manchester City."

Mikel Arteta warned over Arsene Wenger plans

Last week, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said that it would be great to have former manager Arsene Wenger more involved with the running of the club, but Martin Keown has warned him against the move.

"I wonder whether Wenger might have said to him, 'Why are you not playing [Kieran] Tierney this week?'," Keown said during BT Sports' coverage of the Gunners' game with Newcastle.

"I wonder if he would've said, 'Why is Lokonga playing?' Because I admire that he [Arteta] wants to stick with players, that’s what he wants.

"And I think it might affect [Nuno] Tavares’ development but I think that call has to be made and it’s not been made today."

Have your say on what Arsenal should do in the January transfer window below

Karim Adeyemi told he should join Arsenal

Red Bull Salzburg star Karim Adeyemi has been told by transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio that he should join Arsenal instead of Barcelona in the future.

Both clubs are said to be interested in signing the talented 19-year-old, who has scored 11 goals in 15 appearances this season, but it's the Gunners who have been tipped.

“I think he would be a better fit for Arsenal than Barcelona," Di Marzio told Wettfreunde.

"The style of play in Barcelona is different from that in Arsenal. And if I had to imagine him in one of those clubs, I would say Arsenal because that fits better into his style of play."
