Cristiano Ronaldo strikes for Portugal as Juventus striker closes in on all-time goalscoring record

Portugal superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is within touching distance of football's all-time goalscoring record after finding the back of the net against Andorra.

The Juventus superstar came off the bench for his country and hit the sixth goal in a 7-0 rout of Andorra.

And the goal means Ronaldo is closing in on becoming the greatest marksman the game has ever seen.

The goal was the 746th senior strike of his career, putting the former Manchester United and Real Madrid man level with Ferenc Puskas on the all-time list.

With 102 goals for his national team and 644 at club level, Ronaldo is just 21 behind Brazilian legend Pele in third place.

While the man himself claims over 1,000 career goals many of those came in club friendlies and the official total stands at 767.

Ahead of him is Romario on 772, with Slavia Prague legend Josef Bican currently the game's all-time top goalscorer.

He's the only man to break 800 competitive goals and has a tally of 805.

While Ronaldo is behind by 59 goals he has hit over 30 club goals in every season but one since 2008-09.
