Cristiano Ronaldo soaks up the sun on holiday amid Barcelona transfer link

Cristiano Ronaldo has been enjoying the sun alongside girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez following the end to his season.

The Portuguese star played his final game of an extended campaign on Friday as Juventus were dumped out of the Champions League.

They beat Lyon 2-1 in Turin but lost on away goals after Memphis Depay's penalty had put the French side ahead.

It means that Europe's biggest prize has eluded Ronaldo for a second straight year and there are reports he is being shopped around by the Bianconeri.

They are keen to get his mammoth wages off their book as they look to give Andrea Pirlo a clean slate to start with after he replaced Maurizio Sarri.

In an incredible audacious move the 35-year-old was offered to Barcelona despite having a contract until 2022.

Ronaldo became an icon at their arch rivals Real Madrid where he spent almost a decade, becoming the club's all time leading goalscorer.

Crossing the divide would be a huge step but also offer Ronaldo the chance to team up with Lionel Messi.

The pair have dominated world football for the past decade, sharing almost every individual award there is to win.

Messi recently edged clear of Ronaldo in the Ballon d'Or stakes winning a sixth to take him one clear of his Portuguese rival.

PSG are another club who have been linked with Ronaldo, whose agent Jorge Mendes has been tasked with finding him a new club.

Spanish football expert Guillem Balague shed some light on the on BBC Radio 5 Live: "The reason why Ronaldo has been linked to PSG is not so much that PSG are thinking of getting him, it is because Jorge Mendes has been given instructions to find a team for Ronaldo.

Premier League transfer plans

"We've seen this in the last six months, he was linked to Real Madrid.

"They said no chance, he's not coming back. And there's been talks about the MLS because Juventus want to get rid of that wage.

"It is as drastic as that. He's been offered everywhere, including Barcelona."
