Cristiano Ronaldo sends message to Manchester United players about Chelsea performance

Cristiano Ronaldo insists "nothing is impossible" for Manchester United this season following their 1-1 draw against Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.

After a turgid first half performance, United came to lift after the half time interval at Stamford Bridge and got their noses in front on the 50-minute mark, with Jadon Sancho robbing Jorginho of possession, running through on goal and coolly slotting home a low shot beyond Blues goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.

Having set up to play on the counter-attack, it could have been the ideal United gameplan, with Sancho scoring his first ever Premier League goal.

However, they were pegged back 19 minutes later when Aaron Wan-Bissaka was guilty of tripping Thiago Silva inside the penalty area, allowing Jorginho to bring the home side level, as he comfortably dispatched his penalty from 12 yards to earn Thomas Tuchel's side a share of the spoils.

While the result extended United's winless run in the league to three games, it did, at least, arrest their two-game losing run.

Ronaldo had to be content with a place on the bench and showed his disappointment with the result after the full-time whistle.

The Portugal international stepped off the bench in the second half to replace Sancho, who had picked up a slight knock, but he failed to turn the game back in United's favour.

Although a point at Stamford Bridge must be seen as a positive result, Ronaldo is used to winning, meaning he was no doubt frustrated when the full-time whistle blew.

Despite it being another Premier League game without a win, the Portuguese star is remaining upbeat.

Taking to his Instagram page, Ronaldo said: "There is still a long road ahead and nothing is impossible when you play for Man United.

"We will keep chasing our goals until the end!"
