Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag bluntly told reporters he will 'not answer anymore questions' over Cristiano Ronaldo 's future after he dropped the Portugal star at the weekend.
Ronaldo, who made his romantic return to Old Trafford at the start of last season, impressed to a degree last year with 24 goals in 38 games for the Red Devils - despite United's tumultuous season under both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick. Yet under the new guidance of Erik ten Hag, Ronaldo is currently enduring his worst season in club football yet; just two goals in 12 games has seen the former Real Madrid star's value and reputation plummet.
That escalated last week when Ronaldo refused to come off the bench for the game against Tottenham, and he walked down the tunnel mere moments before full-time - which massively angered his Dutch boss. But after dropping him from the squad for the visit of Chelsea, Ronaldo is back in contention when Sheriff Tiraspol visit the Theatre of Dreams - and Ten Hag was quizzed about his introduction.
He said: "I think we said everything and answered all of the questions. He was out for one game, and now he's back as usual," Ten Hag told the press on Wednesday. "You don't have to (ask about Ronaldo again) because I won't answer any more questions.
"We covered everything last week. We explained everything. So we have to focus on tomorrow. We have an important game because we want to be top of the group so let's focus on that."
