Cristiano Ronaldo's sister blasted by Italian media for Manchester United comment on Instagram

Cristiano Ronaldo's sister has been criticised by the Italian media ahead of her brother sealing a return to Manchester United.

Ronaldo has passed a medical in Lisbon ahead of sealing a truly remarkable return to Old Trafford after United agreed a deal with Juventus on Friday.

However, whilst the excitement in England, especially amongst the United supporters, is continuing to build ahead of his return to the Premier League, Ronaldo's sister - Katia Aveiro - has posted a message on her Instagram page that has been slammed by the Italian media, after Ronaldo made it clear last week that he wanted to leave the Turin-based club.

Uploading a graphic-type picture of Ronaldo sat on a thrown with a crown on and a devil fork in hand, the picture has been edited to be a darkened red, symbolising, of course, his impending move to United.

However, it is the caption she wrote alongside the image that the Italian press have not taken kindly to, claiming it is a dig at Juventus.

She wrote: "Welcome back to United, a club worthy of you."

It is the second half of that sentence that has disgruntled the Italian press, with Gazzetta Dello Sport, as cited by Sport Witness, claiming that the statement has made a 'mockery' of Juventus.

The report claimed that Katia was ‘removing a few stones from her shoes’ and she did not want to ‘miss the opportunity’ to ‘shoot an arrow’ against the Serie A heavyweights.

Ronaldo's time at Juventus was incredibly successful as he won five major honours during his time there, as well as netting more than 100 goals.
