Manchester United have struggled to kick-on since the recent signing of Cristiano Ronaldo - and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is feeling the heat.
The Red Devils head into their Champions League clash with Atalanta tonight (Wednesday) under serious pressure after a 4-2 defeat against Leicester City at the weekend.
For the time being, it is believed Solskjaer’s job is safe with club bosses not considering making a managerial change.
But reports from Spain suggest that Cristiano Ronaldo has put forward Zinedine Zidane’s name to United bosses and ‘recommended’ him as a potential replacement.
El Chiringuito claim Ronaldo believes his former Real Madrid manager could be a strong replacement if Solskjaer does depart.

And his previous comments about life under the Frenchman at the Bernabeu show why he might feel he is the answer.
Having splashed the cash on big names including Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho, one of the major issues Solskjaer has faced is managing the big-names within his squad.
But in May 2019, Ronaldo hailed Zidane for his work doing just that when he returned to Real Madrid to replace Rafa Benitez.
“Zidane can manage the squad intelligently,” he said.

“At Madrid every player wants to play every game so from a managerial position, it is not easy to delegate all these decisions and make the calls.
“He knows how to handle this with a lot of thought. And he knows how to manage the squad.”
Later that year, when Ronaldo left for Juventus, he hailed Zidane for the atmosphere he created to make him “feel special” and give confidence to his players.
"The confidence that a player needs doesn't only come from himself but also from the players around him and the coach," he said.

"You need to feel like you are an important part of the group and Zidane made me feel special.
"He helped me a lot. I already had a lot of respect for him but working with him made me admire him more.
"That's because of what he's like as a person, how he talks, how he led the team and how he treated me.”

During Zidane’s first spell, Ronaldo was up front about how he felt playing under the Frenchman.
"I love working with Zidane," he said after a stunning Champions League comeback against Wolfsburg.
"I love his personality and the way he manages us. I'm very happy.”
Whilst there is no indication Solskjaer will depart any time soon, Zidane is waiting in the wings and would certainly seem likely to be a popular appointment with Ronaldo.
