Cristiano Ronaldo reveals the major change to his game this season

Cristiano Ronaldo used to be best known for his stepovers, skills and dribbling ability at the peak of his powers at Manchester United and Real Madrid .

But the Juventus star, who is approaching the twilight of his career, has admitted his mentality has changed so that he now focuses purely on winning rather than impressing people.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner, who scored in Juve's most recent game against rivals Torino, is not as quick as he once was, but said he has simply adapted his game to stay at the top level of the game.

Speak to Spanish outlet El Pais , Ronaldo said: "I see football as a mission: go to the field, win, make me better.

"Those moments when I went to the field thinking, 'I'm going to dribble,' if I'm honest, I don't have those moments anymore."

He also admitted it can become tiresome constantly being written off by people who claim he is past his best.

"There is an additional pressure. People are always judging," he said. "It's over already. He's 33, 34 or 35 years old, I should leave him.' And you want to surprise people.

"I will not deny that sometimes it annoys and tires me because it seems that every year you must prove that you are very good. It's hard.

"You have that extra pressure of having to prove something to people, not just for you. Also to the people who are around you, [like] your family, your mother, your son."

Ronaldo has hardly struggled to adapt in his first season in Serie A with Juventus. He has scored 21 goals in 28 appearances and has helped inspire the side towards yet another league title, although he was unable to do the same in the Champions League, with Juve being knocked out in the quarter finals by Ajax.
