Cristiano Ronaldo provides injury update after hobbling off for Portugal

Cristiano Ronaldo is facing a race against time to be fit for Juventus ' Champions League quarter-final clash with Ajax.

The Portuguese superstar limped off in the first half of Portugal's 1-1 draw with Serbia after pulling up with what appeared to be a hamstring problem.

Ronaldo insisted after the game he was "not worried" about his injury, which is his first muscle problem for a number of years.

Yet he also admitted he could be out for a "a week or two", leaving Juventus sweating on his fitness with just 16 days until their first leg with Ajax in Amsterdam.

"I'm not worried about this injury and I'm not afraid, I know my body well. I think I'll be fine in a week or two," Ronaldo told journalists after the game.

The 34-year-old pulled up in discomfort as he chased a ball down the line in the first half of Portugal's Euro 2020 qualifier.

They were trailing 1-0 at the time after an early Dusan Tadic penalty, but a Danilo Pereira equaliser before half-time ended up being the equaliser.

Cristiano Ronaldo's eight-word message to fan will break Real Madrid hearts

Ronaldo's injury will no doubt be a major story as Juventus prepare for their huge Champions League clash with Ajax next month.

They'll be desperate to get him back for the first leg on April 10, with the return fixture in Turin just six days later on April 16.

Their talisman fired them into the last eight with a stunning hat-trick to see off Atletico Madrid in dramatic fashion in the last 16.
