Cristiano Ronaldo passes Harry Kane in Premier League goal charts with Manchester United double

Cristiano Ronaldo needed only seven minutes to make his mark against Norwich as the Manchester United striker moved past Harry Kane in the Premier League goal-scoring charts. Ronaldo opened the scoring at Old Trafford with his 13th goal of the domestic campaign - and it was soon followed by a 14th.

That return is added to the six goals he netted in the Champions League prior to elimination. A sensational return some 12 years in the making, Ronaldo touched down for his second act at the start of this season and - despite his regular goals - has come in for some criticism from pundits and other observers.

However, time and time against the Portugal captain has silenced that noise. With plenty left in the tank still at 37, the United superstar combined with Anthony Elanga for the opener.

Ronaldo slammed home his 13th goal of the Premier League campaign to go past England captain Kane. Earlier on this afternoon, the Tottenham man drew a blank against Brighton as the Seagulls went on to grab a late winner to re-open an intriguing battle for top-four in the process.

Back at United and, before half-time came, Ronaldo had Jesse Lingard to thank for his 14th of the season.

Tottenham started this matchday six points ahead of United, but Ralf Rangnick and his team can close that gap to three points with victory over the Canaries. By scoring twice against Norwich, five-time Ballon d'Or winner Ronaldo sits fourth in the goal-scoring charts - also going past Liverpool star Sadio Mane (13).

Mohamed Salah (20), Son Heung-min (17) and Diogo Jota are the only men to have netted more. Bruno Fernandes remains the closest United player to Ronaldo with nine goals.
