Shearer hails Ronaldo

Match of the Day pundit Alan Shearer was full of praise for Ronaldo following his sensational return to Premier League football.

“He was never going to disappoint. We all expected him to do well, to score his goal or his goals and the performance that he put in was just phenomenal.

"For 36 years of age, his energy, his attitude, is an example to any young kid watching. Just watch him week in, week out. Whether it’s his movement, his touch, his control, everything about him is first class.

"We know what his attitude his like, that’s why he’s got so many goals. Has he lost any pace? Not at all, look at the way he glides past defenders. What a celebration, that was goal number 787. Just incredible.”

Fernandes hails Portuguese connection

Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes took to social media after the victory over Newcastle United, where he was on the scoresheet.

It was a memorable day for United and Fernandes shared it with his compatriot, with Cristiano Ronaldo shining on his return to the club.

The two Portuguese stars will be decisive for United this season in their push to achieve their objectives this season and Fernandes hailed the 'Portuguese connection' at the club.

Fernandes also posted another picture with him celebrating his goal, with Ronaldo and Mason Greenwood in the background, alongside a message that read: "Indeed, Theater of Dreams."
