Cristiano Ronaldo scored two goals as Manchester United drew 2-2 with Atalanta on Tuesday night.
Atalanta took the lead against United through Josip Ilicic, as his shot squirmed under David de Gea, just after the 10-minute mark, but Ronaldo got Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side back into the game again after a brilliantly worked team goal on the stroke of half-time.
The Italians regained the lead in the second half when Duvan Zapata took advantage of United's sloppy defending.
United then searched for an equaliser and Solskjaer introduced Edinson Cavani, Nemanja Matic Jadon Sancho and Donny van de Beek in an attempt to find an equaliser, however, their efforts seemed in vain until five minutes of injury time were added.
That's when Ronaldo popped up to score in stoppage time with an expertly taken volley, which rifled into the bottom corner.
While that goal salvaged a draw for United at the Gewiss Stadium, it also meant Ronaldo matched a Ruud van Nistelrooy record.
Ronaldo has now scored in four consecutive Champions League games this season — and he’s the first United player to do so since Van Nistelrooy did under Sir Alex Ferguson in 2003.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner also became the oldest player to score two goals in a single game for United in Europe last night.
