Cristiano Ronaldo gets his kids involved in workout as he uses them as weights

Cristiano Ronaldo has found a good way to get his children involved in his home workouts during the coronavirus lockdown - by using them as weights in his daily routine.

Like a host of footballers around the globe, the Juventus forward is having to train at home with leagues suspended and training grounds shut owing to the spread of Covid-19.

It means many athletes are having to carry out their daily fitness regimes inside the confines of their own homes, which can bring with it a set of new perils.

Poor Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain saw a session interrupted by his girlfriend's dogs, while Lionel Messi had his son mimic him doing sit-ups.

Ronaldo, though, appeared to not have any issues with his offspring watching him stay fit and instead found a way to really get them involved in his workout.

The former Real Madrid man can be seen first lifting his daughter high above his head in a series of reps, before putting her down and hoisting one of his sons up and keeping them in that position.

It was a sure sign that the 35-year-old had heeded warnings to stay at home after angering locals in his native Madeira last week by heading to a local stadium to train.

The latest footage of Ronaldo working out at home also came on the same day that news emerged of the Portuguese forward's brilliant generosity.

The 35-year-old's national team colleague Bernardo Silva confirmed the Juventus attacker was behind the decision from the Portugal national team to donate 50 per cent of their Euro 2020 qualification bonus to help fight coronavirus.

"Actually he was the one, two or three days ago, that gave us the idea to donate our bonus," Silva told Bleacher Report.

"He gave us the idea to donate part of our bonus, so I think our national team, our players will donate 50 percent of our qualifying bonus."
