Cristiano Ronaldo furious with Manchester United team mates as star's angry reaction spotted

It's been a turbulent fortnight at Manchester United - but those woes haven't been eased by a return to the pitch.

United were decimated by Covid-19 over the festive period and could not fulfil fixtures against Brentford and Brighton.

Interim boss Ralf Rangnick took his side north to face Newcastle United on Monday but they quickly fell behind to the Premier League 's bottom side.

Allan Saint-Maximin weaved his way through a poor United defence before firing beyond David de Gea after just seven minutes.

Rangnick's team were sloppy and ineffective in the opening half an hour, with front four Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood badly isolated.

Ronaldo, in particular, was unable to hide his frustration.

Commentator Jon Champion noted that the Portuguese forward was furiously "gesticulating" with several team-mates during a break in play.

He was said to be giving a number of United's players both barrels in a moment of anger.

Ronaldo was also spotted getting verbal with referee Craig Pawson with United struggling to lay a glove on Eddie Howe 's side.
