Cristiano Ronaldo fumes at Liverpool's Diogo Jota during angry exchange in Euro 2020 Portugal clash

Cristiano Ronaldo couldn't disguise his disgust at Liverpool forward Diogo Jota during an on-field show of petulance at Euro 2020.

Former Manchester United man Ronaldo was angry with Jota for failing to pass during the early stages of Portugal's Group F clash against Hungary in Budapest on Tuesday evening.

In the fifth minute, Jota was released into a shooting position by a pass from Manchester City's Bernardo Silva.

But rather than feed the ball left to the unmarked Ronaldo, the Liverpool forward then struck a shot that was beaten out by Hungary's former Reds goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi.

In a very public show of displeasure, Ronaldo subsequently jumped in the air and flailed his arms in anguish at not being given the ball before screaming at Jota.

Jota came in for more criticism on social media shortly afterwards when seeing another shot saved by Gulacsi when Bruno Fernandes was in a slightly better position.

However, Ronaldo had only himself to blame shortly before half-time when he struck an effort over the crossbar from a matter of yards.

In front of an almost-capacity crowd at the Puskas Arena, Hungary held Portugal to a goalless scoreline by the break.

But after a fortunate deflected opener from Portugal with five minutes remaining, Ronaldo sealed a 3-0 win with a penalty and an injury-time strike.
