Cristiano Ronaldo 'eyeing Real Madrid return' amid 'months' of transfer talks

Cristiano Ronaldo wants to quit Juventus and return to Real Madrid, according to reports in Spain.

The Portuguese star has copped huge amounts of criticism this week following his side's exit from the Champions League.

Ronaldo has been unable to propel Juventus to European glory in his three years at the club.

There have been accusations that the forward is preventing the Old Lady from evolving and he is now ready to seek pastures new.

Ronaldo has just one year remaining on his deal in Turin and has been in contact with Madrid over a return, reports AS.

The 36-year-old won four Champions League titles at the Bernabeu and remains the club's all time top goalscorer.

Ronaldo is earning a mammoth salary in Italy and the Bianconeri may look to move him on.

Reports have suggested that Juventus could accept as little as £25m for a player who cost them £88m back in 2018.

Andrea Pirlo remains relaxed on the situation however insisting that such rumours are nothing out of the ordianry.

“He’s ok. It’s normal for Cristiano to be disappointed, like everyone else," he said.

"The rumours are normal, he is the most important player in the world with Messi. He's always done a great job here and proved his worth."

Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane did little to quash rumours of a return as he said "right now" he was a Juventus player.

"You know what Cristiano Ronaldo means for Real Madrid," he said.

"You know the affection we have for him at Real Madrid. What he did here was magnificent.

"Right now he's a Juventus player and he's doing really well there. I can't say anything about all the many things they say.

"I can only say that he is a Juventus player and we have to respect that."
