Cristiano Ronaldo explains why he did not take part in Manchester United pre-season

Cristiano Ronaldo has explained that he did not take part in Manchester United's pre-season because he was concerned about the health of his child.

The latest revelations come as a further clip from the United forward's interview with the presenter was released during Morgan's 'Uncensored' show. On Sunday, it was revealed by the Talk TV host that Ronaldo had sat down with him for a conversation about his second spell with the Reds.

In the first snippets that have come out, Ronaldo criticised the club, Erik ten Hag, Ralf Rangnick and former teammate Wayne Rooney. While in this latest clip, the forward reiterated that he feels disrespected, he also explained why he feels this way.

A reason he claims for feeling disrespected is that he believes United handled the situation regarding the health of his child Bella and partner Gio poorly. He said: "Exactly, I spoke with the director and president of Manchester United and they kind of didn't believe that something was going wrong, which made me feel bad.

"They believed it but in the same way... I'm never, ever going to change the health of my family for football. Never. Now or 10 years behind or forwards and it's something that really hurt me because they doubt my words that I struggle. Especially Bella (Ronaldo's daughter) and Gio (Ronaldo's partner) - we had one week in hospital because Bella had a big problem.

"And I didn't go to the pre-season because of that. Because I didn't want to leave my family if something happened during pre-season because I think it was not fair to leave my family for preseason. This is why I didn't go."
