Cristiano Ronaldo declares 'now is the time' as official Piers Morgan interview trailer finally drops

Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has declared that "now is the time" to talk with his bombshell interview with Piers Morgan set to air later this week.

Ronaldo shocked Old Trafford and beyond on Sunday evening when snippets from his chat with Morgan started to emerge on social media. In that interview, the Portugal captain revealed that he thought he had been "betrayed" by United while claiming Erik ten Hag and other key figures behind the scenes "want to force him out".

It has been a headline-driven season for Ronaldo, 37, despite his bit-part role on the pitch. He expressed a desire to leave the club for a second time in the summer, then missed the pre-season tour to Thailand and Australia and, also, refused to come off the bench during a 2-0 win over Tottenham last month.

High-profile pundits and supporters continue to have their say on Ronaldo and the official trailer has been dropped by Talk TV and presenter Morgan - who uploaded another clip onto his social media platforms. In that, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner shares his bold declaration after promising a "revelation" earlier in the season.

Morgan has already confirmed that Ronaldo asked him to conduct the interview. In the trailer, released on Monday afternoon, the media figure and Arsenal fanatic asked Ronaldo: "Why are you doing this interview?"

Ronaldo replied: "Because I think it's the time to say something." The clip features more snippets while the interview will be broadcast in full at 8pm on Wednesday and Thursday night. It is a two-part schedule titled 90 minutes with Cristiano Ronaldo, and United have shared their response to the jaw-dropping sit-down with an initial statement.

Cristiano Ronaldo's interview on Piers Morgan Uncensored will appear on TalkTV in a two-part special at 8pm on Wednesday and Thursday.
