Cristiano Ronaldo breaks his silence after positive coronavirus test

Cristiano Ronaldo has confirmed that he is well after testing positive for coronavirus.

Ronaldo took to Instagram Live to tell fans: "I have no symptoms. I feel fine, I sleep well."

The Juventus striker returned a positive test while on international duty with Portugal.

In a statement on Tuesday, Portugal's Football Federation confirmed the five-time Ballon d'Or winner is not experiencing symptoms but is now self-isolating.

The statement reads: " Cristiano Ronaldo was released from the work of the National Team after a positive test for COVID-19, so he will not face Sweden.

"The Portuguese international is doing well, without symptoms, and in isolation.

"Following the positive case, the remaining players underwent new tests this Tuesday morning, all with a negative result, and are available to Fernando Santos for training this afternoon, in the City of Football.

"The game, counting for the qualification phase of the League of Nations, is scheduled for Wednesday, at 19:45, in Alvalade."

Ronaldo played the full 90 minutes of his nation's goalless draw with France on Sunday, having also featured against Spain last Thursday.

The 35-year-old was due to represent Portugal against Sweden in the Nations League on Wednesday night, but will play no part in the fixture.
