Long before turning 37 years of age, Cristiano Ronaldo had little to prove in football.
The Manchester United star has won five Ballons d'Or, five Champions League titles and at least one top-flight title in England, Spain and Italy.
But Ronaldo is a born winner who has spent the vast majority of his adult life defining what it means to be a footballer; with his prestine physical condition and talismanic presence on the pitch helping put his name in the history books next to countless records.
The Portugal captain most recently bagged his 800th career goal and back in September, became the men's all-time international goalscorer.
But knowing Ronaldo, he isn't stopping there.
Here are 12 records he can still break after his 37th birthday.

100 Premier League and La Liga goals
After scoring 84 goals in his first 196 English top-flight appearances, the forward has netted a further eight since he returned following 311 goals in 292 La Liga games over nine years at Real Madrid.
Ronaldo now needs just eight more strikes in the Premier League goals to become the first player to score a century of goals in the English and Spanish top divisions.
Most goals in a Premier League season
In arguably the defining season of his first stint at Old Trafford, the Portuguese - still learning his trade - scored a sensational 31 league goals in the 2007-08 campaign.
His haul record for most goals in a 38-game Premier League campaign before Liverpool 's Mohamed Salah struck 32 a decade later.
Although Salah's form makes him the current favourite for the Golden Boot, Ronaldo will be holding out hope that he can usurp the Egyptian.
Oldest Golden Boot winner
Speaking of the league's most coveted award for goalscorers, the United striker first won the Golden Boot in '08.
And he has his sights set on becoming the oldest player to win it by triumphing again after Jamie Vardy won the award as a 33-year-old for Leicester City in 2020.
Oldest Premier League hat-trick
Sticking with the age theme, Ronaldo only scored one hat-trick in his first stint in the north-west but could soon become the oldest player to net a Premier League treble.
The record is currently held by former United striker Teddy Sheringham, who, aged 37 years and 146 days, scored a hat-trick against Sheffield United in 2003.
Man Utd hat-tricks
Having scored 57 hat-tricks himself in nearly 20 years, only one Ronaldo's trebles has come at United.
So, in arguably the most far-fetched record, Wayne Rooney 's eight is the magic number seven away but still technically attainable if Ronaldo goes supernova.
We're pretty sure Sergio Aguero can sleep soundly, still leading the Premier League race with 12 to his name.
First player to win Premier League at Man Utd under two managers
One thing Rooney never achieved was winning the Premier League for United without Ferguson's guidance, as David Moyes, Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho all failed.
And as far as the Red Devils seem from glory now, Ronaldo could become the first player to lift the Premier League at Old Trafford with someone other than Fergie by his side.
David de Gea and Phil Jones, though, might have something to say about that.
Most goals in a season for Man Utd
Returning to that 2008 term, Ronaldo's tally was 42 in all competitions.
But that falls four short of clubs legend Denis Law 's haul in the 1963-64 season, four years before lifting the European Cup alongside fellow Holy Trinity members Bobby Charlton and George Best.
Most Champions League titles
Into Europe now and Ronaldo won his first Champions League title with United 14 years ago, scoring a superb header against Chelsea in the final and helped Sir Alex Ferguson's side pick up the big ears on a rainy night in Moscow.
After moving to Madrid, 'Mr Champions League' went on to win the competition in 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2018.
Although Real legend Pace Gento boasts a record six European Cups, Ronaldo could become the first player to win the Champions League six times.
The Red Devils face Atletico Madrid in the last-16 this term, one of his favourite opponents.
Man Utd's top Champions League goalscorer
Ronaldo may be the top goalscorer in the history of the Champions League, but he isn't United's.
Ruud van Nistelrooy is currently the club's all-time most successful marksman with 35 goals in 43 appearances.
Having netted six at the group stage last autumn, 15 more will see Ronaldo beat the Dutchman's record.
But that's not all of Van Nistelrooy's tallies that he's targeting, as eight strikes in the knockout stages would surpass the striker's 12 which he bagged in the 2002-03 campaign.
Ronaldo will certainly back himself but besting Rooney's club record of 253 goals in all competitions could be a step too far.
Goals in a European season
Although Ronaldo managed an incredible 17 goals as Real Madrid finally claimed 'La Decima' in 2013-14, he doesn't hold the record for most goals in a single UEFA season.
Radamel Falcao's exploits for Altetico in the 2010-11 Europa League set a mark of 18, with one being scored in qualifiying.
Therefore, Ronaldo will fancy gaining the record outright by bagging 12 more between now and May.
If one of those happen to be in the final, he will also better Paulo Maldini's record, as he scored when he was 36 against Liverpool in 2005.
Most men's international caps
And finally, with 184 appearances for Portugal to his name, Ronaldo needs 36 more to become the most-capped male player in international football.
Malaysia icon Soh Chin Ann currently holds the record with 219 but with seven fixtures pencilled in over the course of 2022 and a possible World Cup campaign to boot, the superstar must know he can further cement himself in the history of the beautiful game with that record.
