Cristiano Ronaldo has agreed to take a pay cut which will take a £3.4million chunk out of his yearly £28million wage, following an agreement from the Juventus first team to take a reduction in salary to ease the financial burden on the club.
The Juve players have completed their self-isolation period, but long-serving player Giorgio Chiellini has remained at the J Hotel.
The towering centre-back spoke with club president Andrea Agnelli and director Fabio Paratici in a conference call, where they discussed a proposal for the players to cut their pay.
He then outlined the idea to senior players of the squad in another video call.
Veterans Gianluigi Buffon, Leonardo Bonucci and Cristiano Ronaldo all accepted to make cuts to their salary - while the finer details are yet to be agreed upon.
It is reported that Chiellini feels the move will show a sign of solidarity with the rest of Italy, a country that has been particularly affected by the ongoing crisis.
Ronaldo - who is the side's top scorer this season with 25 goals in all competitions - earns a reported £496,000-a-week - a figure which the Old Lady are hoping to review when possible, with the intention of offering him a two-year renewal on his current deal, which expires in 2022.
Meanwhile, Wales international Aaron Ramsey's £400,000-a-week wage will be cut, as too will Matthijs de Ligt's, on his £265,000 weekly pay.
The club have released a statement that read: "Juventus Football Club communicates, due to the global health emergency currently underway which is preventing the performance of the sporting activity, that it has reached an agreement with the players and the coach of the First Team regarding their remuneration for the remaining part of the current sports season.
"The agreement provides for the reduction of the fees for an amount equal to the monthly payments of March, April, May and June 2020.
"In the coming weeks, individual agreements with the members will be finalized, as required by current regulations."
Juventus sit top of Serie A on 63 points, but Lazio are breathing down their neck, just a point behind the Turin-based club.
They missed out on winning the Supercoppa Italiana in December, losing 3-1 to Lazio, but remain in the Coppa Italia, where are yet to face AC Milan in the semi-finals, while the Italian champions are also in the Champions League, where they will go into the second leg of their round of 16 tie against Lyon trailing 1-0.
Should the Juve win the league, it would be their ninth consecutive Serie A victory.
