Cristiano Ronaldo already knew Arsenal would see best of £30m ace leading Champions League chase

Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo's prediction on Arsenal star Martin Odegaard has begun to come true six years after it was made.

Odegaard joined the Gunners on a short term loan back in January of this year before making the move permanent over the summer.

Despite enduring a quiet start to the current campaign, the Norwegian playmaker has started firing on all cylinders, providing three goals and three assists in his last six Premier League outings, more than any other player in the English top-flight.

The 22-year-old is finally beginning to fulfil his sky-high potential, something that footballing icon Ronaldo predicted during their time together with Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Speaking back in 2015, the Portuguese forward said: "You see many players with potential, I will mention (Martin) Odegaard of Madrid, for example. At 16, he's still young, but you can see he's a very good player."

Odegaard himself has also admitted that he is extremely happy at the Emirates Stadium, claiming that the current crop of players are well on their way to achieving success with the club.

"I’ve been through a lot despite my young age, and now I have joined a fantastic team with young and promising players," he told Jan Aage Fjortoft, via arseblog.news, after Arsenal's 5-1 win over Sunderland last week.

"We are a team that is rising in a big club that belongs at the top. I feel that we are on a good path to achieve that. What we have done lately is very promising.

"We are a hungry group of lads that want to establish the team at the top again. It feels good to be here and I think what we are doing now is very good."
