It's no great surprise to read, in the BBC's account of a BSI report on crises, that most businesses don't have a plan for what to do if we had a New Orleans-style hurricane unexpectedly.
The same report highlights someless understandable stuff, though. 25 per cent of companies couldn't cope with an IT problem. And a substantial amount couldn't manage if there were a problem in their supply chain.
Let's be honest - in the UK's climate, a hurricane is highly unlikely to happen. But a problem with a supplier is almost a certainty at some stage, and how many people are saying they wouldn't be ready..?
Have a good weekend - then come back and make a contingency plan!
