Criminal Minds: Long-running CBS show to end after season 15

Long-running US series Criminal Minds is coming to an end.

CBS’s crime procedural will finish after a newly-confirmed 15th season, which will be shot back-to-back with the season 14 episodes currently in production, Variety has confirmed.

The final season will run for 10 episodes bringing its overall tally to 325, officially making it one of the longest-running shows in television history.

Criminal Minds – which was created by Jess Davis – follows a group of FBI Agents who attempt to catch criminals through behavioural profiling. Its cast includes Joe Mantegna, Paget Brewster, Matthew Gray Gubler and Aisha Tyler.

The show found itself in the spotlight for the wrong reasons in 2016 when actor Thomas Gibson, who played FBI Special Agent Aaron Hotchner, was fired from the show after a physical altercation with one of its producers.

Most recently, Variety reported that Greg St Johns – the series’s director of photography – faced multiple accusations of sexual misconduct from fellow crew members.
